David Gilmours Luck And Strange On Course For Third Solo No 1 In Uk

David Gilmour’s ‘Luck and Strange’ on Course for Third Solo No. 1 in U.K.

David Gilmour’s fourth solo album, ‘Luck and Strange’, is on course to give the Pink Floyd guitarist his third U.K. chart-topping record, according to the midweek update published by the Official Charts Company.

Gilmour currently leads the race with ‘Luck and Strange’ outselling its nearest rival, The Weeknd’s ‘Dawn FM’, by more than two copies to one.

Should Gilmour hold on to claim the top spot on Friday’s final chart, it will be his third solo Number One album in the U.K., following on from 2015’s ‘Rattle That Lock’ and his 2006 debut ‘On An Island’. He would also become the second-oldest artist to score a Number One album in the U.K., behind only Bob Dylan, who was 79 when his album ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ topped the chart two years ago.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Becky Hill and Topic are at Number Three with their collaboration ‘My Heart Goes (La Di Da)’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘=’ is at Four and Dave’s ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’ is at Five. Sam Smith is up two to Number Six with ‘Love Me More’,KSI’s ‘Holiday’ is at Seven, and The Beatles’ ‘Revolver’ is at Eight following its 50th anniversary reissue.

Finally, Imagine Dragons are new at Number Nine with ‘Bones’ and Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak’s Silk Sonic project complete the Top 10 with ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’ at Number 10.
